1. Cleanliness. Mexico City is one of the cleanest cities that I've ever been. I know what you’re thinking, in a city of over 8.8 million how can that be? I was shocked as well. I was thinking third world country, poverty, etc., but to my dismay not at all. Its beautiful with green space and modern buildings and ...every bathroom comes with an attendant that will keep it super spotless. Of course these attendants are working only for tips. I had no problem tipping for this service as no one likes dirty facilities. Could we not do this here in the United States? I know I've been into a few fast food places that could use an attendant. The streets are also constantly being swept and washed and garbage removed. I was amazed to see no litter on streets. Very Impressive.

2. Culture. Saw one of the best theater productions Ballets of my life, it was a 5+ star show.  Please don't miss this amazing theatrical experience. I'm still in awe of it. We saw it in the Palacio De Bellas Artes which is a beautiful theatre with a hand made Tiffany screen that’s a must see if you are traveling to Mexico City. The show did not disappoint and was super entertaining.

3. The Food. We ate everything, everywhere and had no problems of (Montezuma Revenge )AKA food sickness. Mexico City has more Michelin star rated restaurants than anywhere in the world. Do take a good tour it’s a must. As side note, we did choose to skip water fountains and tried to choose bottled water hen possible.

4. Weather/Dress So your not in Cancun and even though it's warm in the day its cool in the evenings, bring a sweater. This is not the beach so you really don’t see people with shorts, flip flops and tank tops. Most women and men are in jeans and casual tops with comfortable closed toed shoes.

Here I am at the Pyramids its a little cool but not enough for a jacket and its July!! No I didn't climb to the top I'm such a chicken when it comes to heights!!

5. Hotels Mexico City has some amazing hotels and you can grab some great bargains.  Check on 4 and 5 star hotels you will be super impressed at what is offered. Always remember Location, Location, Location!!  If you are traveling from US or Euro you’re going to love the exchange rate!  We stayed at the Krystal Grand Reforma Uno,

it was amazing and super modern with large rooms, spa, with great amenities and close to historic district. If you stay there make sure you book a rate that will include the hotel breakfast its well worth it.  We were on the 18th floor...remember my fear of heights...Yikes!!!!

If I were to go again I would also consider the Grand Hotel de Mexico due to its location inside the historic district and the fact that I'm a big sucker for antiques and grand old things!  Its been called one of the most elegant hotels in Mexico. I love that it looks very romantic.  See Below.

6. Safety  I know that is always everyone's big concern when going abroad especially Mexico, but I can honestly say we encountered no problems with safety and we walked everywhere inside the historic district. I have been told to be careful of taxi and Uber drivers in the late hours, so always be aware of your surroundings and your hotel location. We also had someone tell us to not go beyond a certain zone, so check with the hotel concierge just as a precaution.

Mexico City is a beautiful vibrant city with a wide array of museums, culture, food and wonderful people. Don't hesitate to take it all in and enjoy your time there........Travel Corazon!!!
